Here we go again - United Struggle as Chelsea Lead the League

The EPL season has begun and it's a feeling of deja vu for Manchester United boss JM as his side have once again struggled to find postives from a lacklustre start to the season.

With only one win to show now from 5 games, and most recently an embarassing away defeat to Liverpool, JM is struggling to find reasons behind the struggle in the EPL.

The Man Utd Boss Searches for Answers

"We had great pre-season form, everyone is playing well and we have defended well." JM spoke at a press conference this morning.

When asked did he feel his job was on the line early this season, he answered;  "Yes, of course. We have a proud history of success and we need to find results and fast. This is unacceptable."

Over in London, Chelsea have had to opposite start with manager SB congratulating his players on a positive start to the new season. They currently lead the comp with 3 wins from 5 matches.

Lampard has been in fine form for Chelsea to start the new season

"It's a good start - just need to carry on from here." SB said yesterday

With all the attantion on Man Utd's poor start, Chelsea's success has gone slightly under the radar.

Time will tell if this run of form will continue.

Chelsea Claim Community Cup

Chelsea have claimed first bragging rights of the season with a somewhat unconvincing 1- 0 win against Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Chelsea Celebrate the Community Cup
In a tense and at times awkward battle, Chelsea took the lead early and held on to claim their second straight Community Cup title.

"The win today is for all of our supporters but especially the squad who played well and were the better team today." Stated a joyous Chelsea manager.

Chelsea lead EA Super Liga

EA Sports inaugural Super Liga competition, consisting of 8 best of the best teams in Europe, is off with a bang and it's a surprising frontrunner at the half way point in the league.

Chelsea lead the home and away elite competition, and with 7 games remaining feel confident they can charge toward the finish line with their noses in front.

"It's close at the top with the top 4 of Chelsea, Bayern, Barcelona and Man United all jostling for positions." says ESPN correspondent Shaka Hislop.

Chelsea's Torres has had a surprisingly good start to the EA Super Liga
'I'm not sure if Chelsea have the fire power to withhold the big teams at the business end - I can see Barcelona and even Real Madrid making a charge. And Bayern will also be hard to stop."

England's other hope Manchester United have so far impressed and show signs that last season's disasters in the Premier League are well and truly behind them.

"I think Man U are the sleeping giants at this stage - its certainly up for grabs."

Marquee Signings Rock The NY13 Kup

Ronaldo back home at Old Trafford

Fans have praised the likes of Marquee signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo and Hulk, for their individual contributions to the highly successful NY13 Kup.

Ibrahimovic, who stared for Chelsea throughtout the tournament, was probably the standout as the blues were solidly knocked out by eventual winners Real Madrid in the Semi Final.

"It just goes to show how good Chelsea are when they have player like Ibra up front." An unidentified Chelsea spokersperson said today.

Cristiano Ronaldo played equally as outstanding as  his Blues counterpart, however Man Utd failed to gel Ronaldo into a star studded front line as expected.

Ibrah talks to the press

Not to be outdone, Hulk played his part for Porto - in particular with his bullet like shots against Chelsea in the group stages.

"Probably one of the best strikes I have seen in years - it deserved to go in." An industry expert claimed today.

Back to their clubs these players must go - and with another pre-season cup on its way, its a final chance for Europe's biggest clubs to fine tune their squads for the new season.

Sad end to the EPL season

With the busy Christmas period behind us, so is another English Premier League Season. And once again our big guns failed to fire in the final third of the season.

For Chelsea, it goes down as a season of missed opportunities. So many times SB's side huffed and puffed but on each occasion were reduced to just a whimper. A placing outside the top 4 was the final result, with an official DNF listing for the Blues a sad indication of another poor season.

For Manchester United it was a horrible season from start to finish. JM's team showed barely any life from mid way through the season, with only glipses of what they can produce from time to time. Plenty to build on says the manager - and he'll have probably only several weeks of a new season to prove it.

With rumours of a move back to Spain for both high profile managers, this could be the last season in England for quite some time. And for both - a last chance to prove moving to England was not the biggest mistake of their careers.

Official Finish: EPL season:
Chelsea - DNF
Manchester United - DNF

Chelsea Still Have Hope...Man U Concede Dismal Season

After a flurry of goals against Manchester City mid week SB still believes his Chelsea boys have a hope of taking this years Premier League title - despite the fact they are 12 points behind with only 10 games remaining.

"If we can just get on a run and win 3 or 4 games straight - the tide will turn and we will catch the front runners." Chelsea boss SB spoke off the record on Wednesay.

"We've had probably too many losses already but I still think we have a chance."

WIth no clear rules in place at this stage regarding Champions League qualification, Manchester United have all but conceded the season, and its one JM and his team would rather forget.

Yes, this will go down as my worst ever season." JM said today.
"It was a disaster from start to finish - but atleast we showed some of our quality in the FA Cup."
"I believe next season will be the year for us - it is ususally my third season at a club which brings me success."

With 10 games remaining and little to play for - there is little doubt attentions are already turning to next season, which will be a big one considering it will the last for both SB and JM in England for now.

This has nothing to do with this story - I just thought it was funny.
